No Changes

For the first time since my trainer, I'll have a companion for two transfers. Yay

Funny story of the week: so we are meeting up with this Recent Convert at some basketball court in a park. He wanted to introduce us to his friend to explain more about Pageant because the friend will be going.  We get there. The basketball court is actually 8 basketball courts together. There are about 50 people there playing basketball. The Recent Convert is easy to find because he is the only white kid there. So up walks the two missionaries, in white shirts and ties into the basketball court. We shot around for a little bit before we had to go.  His friend was a no show. As far as the basketball skills go, I could maybe blend in with decent shots. As for the Recent Convert and my companion, they definitely stuck out like a sore thumb as the elementary school kids could have beat them. It was quite the funny awkward moment. I love the ghetto black city.

This week my companion used the District Meeting training to (not so) subtlety bash the things he thought I was doing wrong by talking about daily planning sessions. Mostly because we've had a lot of "we have no idea what to do for the next 2 hours+" time this last week or so with all the cancellations and such. Ya..........

I was able to pick up that $5 Polaroid camera from a yard sale. Well, it's worth almost $100 but I was only going to pay 5. It's soooo sweet! And the lady at that yard sale loves me because I gave her all these tips on what other things were worth so they didn't get cheated. She said she would go to Pageant too.

For some reason Elder Powers and Ipson bought butterfly knives. It's a knife where you can do "tricks." So far they've just been fancy when opening it. It's an interesting hobby of sorts.

I cut my own hair. It was a dangerous gamble. Didn't turn out too bad. Definitely could be prettier though.

Don't buy a Toyota convertible. Or your transmission will go out at 40,000 miles, your AAA will be out and you'll have to accept $20 from a pair of missionaries and commit to go to the Hill Cumorah Pageant.

I seem to keep conditioning my companions into bad habits. They seem to assume if I'm in the kitchen cooking up something, that the something is for two. Which I'm fine cooking food for my companions but I get into that awkward situation where I know if I don't make enough for two, they won't eat (as we'll only have 10 minutes left of dinner). And it's way too awkward to be like "I'm only cooking this for me!" Oh well. I guess a way to serve companions.

Once again, we had a solid week of cancellations and show-up-for-the-appointment-no-one-is-there appointments. So not much to report on the teaching end of things.
