Running Out of Email Titles

Elder Passey and Elder Powers lost their car. They had a bunch of sisters come in this transfer so they opened up a sisters area. Their car was volunteered to go to the sisters. Sadly, it's made it so we are limited on our work as well because we have the same mile limit without the carpooling option and they are always hoping for slight detour rides from us. None of the other 3 really watch miles either. They just kind of go with it.

Here we are, minding our own business, getting 5 Guys for dinner. I notice a guy and his teenaged son give us an extra weird stare. A little more than the usual stares. So we order and go sit down. The guy and son leave. We are sitting there talking as I notice they are coming back in. Which is whatever. Then out of no where he comes up to us and starts striking up a conversation about religion. Well he went straight to the point. Started asking all these questions and was basically yelling when he started. Of course the three of us are just letting him yell and not give him the time of day. Sadly, Elder Powers gets all fired up and tries to argue back the doctrinal points. Which is about as useful as yelling at a mountain to move. Well, after much pointless arguing he leaves us with some great anti pamphlets and leaves. The workers all apologized for the rude random customer. The pamphlet was funny and weak though. It was completely written to bash our religion (which I find funny as you don't see us writing specific bashing of others) and it had all the Anti 101 points which are easily disproved. Such as the Revelations "Don't add to this book." The anti guy needs better material.

We were able to get in with the Less Active Member's fiancé we are trying to teach. The lesson went well. Her two daughters were there and seemed somewhat interested. They listened and asked questions. And added me on Facebook afterwards. It was a nice comfortable lesson so I think they'll stick around for more lessons. The oldest daughter is openly lesbian though which is a bit of a speed bump.

I had the cool opportunity with Facebook that renewed my faith in it's worthwhile-ness. Basically, randomly decided to add someone from back home that I barely ever talked to. Thought she was a non member. Of course she was a member though. She has been going through some tough times with a family member that is very sick. Randomly decided to strike up a conversation with her. About 2 minutes in she completely opened up and I was able to help her recognize the Plan Of Salvation some more and (at least temporarily) convince her out of suicide. So yay for Facebook! Actually worth the trouble.

I'm a little more nervous with Pageant now. As it's this Friday/Saturday is opening night. Then it's next week. And so far we don't have anyone planned to go with. Hopefully they at least go. Even if we don't go with them. And we get our "everyone has to see it so they get one free night to go" thing too.

For Fourth of July, we volunteered at Greece town center. They had a little carnival. It was small and wasn't very well organized. But it was fun. We got volunteer shirts and wore our name tags so people got to see how cool Mormon missionaries are.
